The Annie Oakley Shooting Club

The Ladies are Here to Stay

Amanda Atkinson owner here at South Yorkshire Shooting Club Rotherham has been busy creating a unique way on how to introduce ladies in to Airgun Target Sports. Amanda wanted ladies to be part of a new social group, where they have the opportunity to try the sport of Target Shooting in a safe and friendly environment.

The Annie Oakley Club was formed in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Charity. What a response, Amanda was completely overwhelmed with enquiries about the evening. Amanda wanted to show that airgun ranges are not dirty, cold and un-welcoming places, so we thought South Yorkshire Shooting Club would be the perfect location for an event like this, Heated Indoor 10 Airgun Lanes, Dedicated Airgun Coaches, Gun Shop, Café and Toilets, Large Free Car Park, Gun Hire and Professionally Organised Shooting Competition run by Target Sports Central.

Ladies attended from all aspects of life taking the opportunity to receive a little airgun coaching, shoot a target competition and meet new like for like people.

South Yorkshire Airgun Coaching Team

Amanda has put in to place at South Yorkshire Shooting Club a team of Airgun coaches with years of experience in Target Sports. Anyone visiting the Shooting Club can be assured of the very finest tuition and advice on any aspects of the sport.

  • Heated Indoor Target Sports Leisure Centre

  • Gun Hire, Air fill and Targets

  • Professional Tuition

  • Monthly Airgun Competitions

Amanda a great shot herself has shown the ladies can hold there own in target sports competitions and they did not disappoint on the evening. The evenings competition was split in to 2 classes, Members and Non Members to keep things fair. Lauren winning the members class with a fantastic 101.3/109 and Kim taking the non members class with a stunning 99.1/109 with no experience of airgunning.

This Trend is Set to Continue

Amanda and the Annie Oakley Club raised a fantastic £400 on the night which was donated to the Macmillan Cancer Charity. Over 50 ladies attended the event and loved the competition experience.

Food and Refreshments were provided by the shooting club.

Due to the great response Amanda is planning on another Annie Oakley Social Evening very soon. Sign up to the newsletter and keep an eye on the Annie Oakley Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/TheAnnieOakleyClub/
